what does a coach do?

The coach's role is to help the client (the person being coached) figure out their goals, discover more about themselves, and come up with their own solutions and plans.

The coach also helps the client stay on track and accountable for the actions they decide to take towards achieving their goals.

Setting goals

Coaches help individuals set realistic and achievable goals. As clients make progress toward these goals, they experience a sense of accomplishment, which positively impacts their self-esteem.

Challenging negative beliefs

Coaches work with clients to identify and challenge limiting beliefs and negative self-talk. By reframing perspectives and focusing on strengths, individuals can develop a more positive and empowering self-narrative.

children & young people / families

Life can sometimes be quite challenging for neurodiverse children.

Coaching can help to a child or young person to navigate issues such as:

  • Communication difficulties
  • Stress and overwhelm
  • Self confidence, and understanding their uniqueness and strengths
  • Education, and getting on better at school
  • Motivation
  • Study skills, including planning and organising
  • Social skills, including friendships

In addition to this, we work with the parent/family, coaching them to be able to help at home and reinforce the learning that takes place during the sessions.

In families where there is more than one person with ADHD we can work with individuals, or as a whole family group.

This company was named after my often yelled statement of “I am not a robot”. I have ADHD myself, and after years of trying various methods of self-improvement, I decided to embrace the real/unmasked me. As a part of this journey, I decided to retrain as a coach in 2023 in a quest to be more hands-on in helping others to live happier, less stressful, more authentic lives. By the end of 2024 I hope to be fully ADDCA (AACC) and PAAC certified.

My background before this was in local government, and in the charity and voluntary sector where I have worked in project management, business development, community development and consultancy roles since 2000.

I am still involved in communities, and my passions include children & young people, empowering people, diversity (including neurodiversity) and the environment. I find it difficult to do nothing, and I have numerous loves and hobbies, depending on which day of the week you ask me :)
